April is finally here, and with it comes the perfect excuse to put the spotlight on someone who I feel truly deserves it—Brad Pfrommer. (Elise Lieberman is also in the photo for scale ;)
I played my first-ever sanctioned wooded-course tournament yesterday at Pfrommer Woods, the Meltdown. I’ve only been around the disc golf community for about three years now, but it didn’t take me long to realize just how big (figuratively and literally, haha) Brad is to this community. He’s the guy who’s always there—not just when it’s convenient but when it’s needed. He doesn’t just show up; he shows up with intention, passion, and heart for this community that runs deep.
Yes, he owns and maintains the incredible 27-hole course out in Williamson—Pfrommer Woods—but what really stands out is how personal that space feels. You can tell it’s more than just a course to him; it’s a labor of love. That first time I pulled into his long driveway and saw the iconic fire pit crackling in the cold, it hit me—this place matters. It’s not just about throwing discs. It’s about warmth, welcome, and the kind of connection that makes winter leagues feel less like a grind and more like a gathering of friends. And that’s just wintertime! The course is even more striking in the summer and especially the Fall months.
Walk the first few holes, and you’ll see it right away—the effort, the care, the pride. Brad’s fingerprints are all over that course, and it shows in the way people talk about it and the way they show up to play.
But what might be even more impressive is what he does outside of Pfrommer Woods. Stewarding the Williamson course and supporting others around the area? He does that, too. Quietly. Consistently. Like it’s just part of who he is—which, honestly, it is.
Brad doesn’t just have a passion for playing; he has a passion for giving back. That’s a rare thing. He gives his time, his energy, his space, and his whole heart to this community, and in doing so, he lifts all of us up with him.
So here’s to Brad—our newest spotlight, but really, a pillar of this community all year long. Thank you for everything you do, seen and unseen. We’re all better for having you around.
