PROCEEDINGS:

  • Meeting started at 7:20 p.m. by Ryan Hand
  • Non-profit status update:
    • Gene Beaumont advised that the club has filed the tax exemption form with the IRS and then introduced Steve Pheterson who explained the certificates he created for the club for distribution to active members.
  • Treasurer’s Report:

    • Greg Curcio gave the financial report and noted that we have $669.54 in our account.
  • President and Treasurer Elections:
    • Ryan Hand ran unopposed and was re-elected as President
    • Greg Curcio ran unopposed and was re-elected as Treasurer.
  • Club Membership Responsibilities:
    • Ryan Hand explained that in 2010 all members will be required to show up to a minimum of four work days and those that do not will not be able to participate in the club’s year-end championships.
  • Website Update:

    • Adam Brennan explained that he would like to utilize the group email more in the future.
    • updated version of the Google Maps view of the courses should be out soon once provided to Adam by Gene Beaumont.
    • Adam requested club members to submit photos for the site.
    • Jeff Walker & Greg Curcio will be added as a Forum moderator
  • 2011 Worlds Update:

    • Tony Inzana provided an update on how the club is doing in regard to Worlds preparations.  Progress is being made but the courses still need a lot of work.
    • He is still looking for volunteers who are will to go to the 2010 Worlds in Ohio to help them with running it.
    • The 2011 Worlds will run from July 23rd – 30th.
    • The next Worlds meeting will be at his house on Feb 1st at 7pm.
  • Course Maintenance Supervisors:

    • Tony Inzana will be the Course Chairman.
    • The follow were named as individual course supervisors:
      • Basil Marella – Doug Blighton
      • Ellison Park – Doug Corea
      • MCC – Jeff Walker
      • Sweden Town Park – Todd Ellis
      • Parma – Ryan Hand
      • Chili – Greg Curcio

  • Fund Raising:
    • $1 from all entry fees during the summer singles and doubles leagues will be donated back to the club.
  • 2010 Tournaments:
    • Ice Bowl – Feb 13th at Parma
      • If any merchandise is wanted please contact Ryan Hand
    • Chili Cookout – May 1st at Chili
      • Still looking for sponsors
    • RFDO – Sept. 18-19
  • New Courses:
    • The proposal has been submitted to the Director of the Monroe County Parks Dept. regarding usage of the courses (Churchville, Ellison and Genesee Valley) for the Worlds and putting in concrete tee pads at Churchville and Ellison Park
      • Greece Canal Park
      •  
        • The club plans to contact Monroe County to provide a separate proposal to get some of the $2 million in funds allocated for park renovations to be assigned to build a disc golf course with tee pads, baskets and signs.
      • Genesee Valley – Temporary for the Worlds -- ?? Permanent after that
      • Powder Mill Park
  • Existing Courses:
    • The club plans to work aggressively starting in the Spring on tee pad installation
    • Complete the MCC redesign.
  • Committee Chairman Named:
    • John Alloco has been named the Tournament Chairman

  • Meeting started at 7:25 p.m. by Ryan Hand

  • Treasurer’s Report:
    • Greg Curcio gave the financial report and noted that we have $554 in our account

  • John Whitney:
    • John has been suspended from the club until further notice

  • Course Updates:
    • Parma:
      • Will be the first course we add cement to this year.
      • Still looking for tee pad sponsorships. Cost is $250/ea.  Six purchased to date.
    • Basil:
      • Hope to have the chipper on the course in mid-June.
      • Going to inquire about getting a small drainage ditch.

  • Website Update:
    • Adam Brennan advised that he is hoping to upload the new GPS course maps soon.
    • Still looking to add more content to the site.

  • Course Maintenance Supervisors:

    • Names of the course supervisors need to get posted on the website.

    • All work on a course should be coordinated through the supervisors.
    • Tony Inzana would like to hold a meeting of all course supervisors at his house on the Monday following the Chili Cookoff.

  • Non-Profit/Tax Exempt status:
    • Gene Beaumont advised that the tax exemption package has been submitted and we now have a case handler who has sent us a letter asking for more information which we are working.

  • Sponsorships:
    • Tony Inzana advised that he needs to complete the sponsorship form and hopes to do that soon.

  • 2011 Worlds Update:

    • Tony Inzana and Gene Beaumont are currently the only ones planning on going to Ohio to volunteer to help the local club.  Still looking for others who are interested in volunteering to help.
    • Monroe County Sports Commission has committed to going to the Worlds to set up a booth to promote the Worlds in Rochester in 2011.
    • First fund raiser disc logos are near completion with the help from Max Norman.
    • Tony Inzana is working on getting some top Pros to come to town to give clinics during next year’s AM Worlds.
    • Monroe County Sports Commission plans on putting ads in the PDGA magazine in each issue for the next year.

  • Media:
    • The D&C has been contacted about getting into this year’s Summer Guide.
    • Plan to submit tournament results to the D&C following their completion.

  • 2010 Tournaments:
    • Chili Cookout – May 1st at Chili
      • Top two AMs will get automatic qualifier for AM Nationals.
      • Needs volunteers (contact John Alloco)
      • Looking for help to gather more prizes.
    • RFDO – Sept. 18-19
      • Planning on 144 players.  B-Tier
      • Plan to make it a Can-AM
    • 2010 FROLF at Ellison – April 25th at noon
      • Phil Stratigis came to the meeting to join and talk about his tournament.
      • Fundraiser to benefit Alternatives for Battered Women
    • NY State Doubles
      • Fees: $100 Pros and $60 AMs
      • At Lake Side Beach Park

  • Leagues:
    • Tues. and Thurs. leagues start this month at Chili.
    • Tues. cost is $7, Thurs. cost is $10
    • Thurs. format will be AM/AM and Pro/Pro
    • By a vote of 10-3 an optional fundraiser of $1/round for a mulligan was added to help fund the Worlds.

  • Meeting started at 7:05 p.m. by Ryan Hand
  • Treasurer’s Report:
    • Greg Curcio gave the financial report and noted that we have $529.54 in our account.
  • Course Updates:

    • Parma:
      • Tee pad at #18 had to be removed due to the fact that it was not on the park property.
      • Ryan Hand will coordinate its replacement.
      • Looking into options to lengthen #7 and #16
      • Still looking to do work on #5
    • Basil:
      • Plummer has been asked to remove the large brush pile between #9 and #10.
      • Chip date set for Aug. 21st.
    • Ellison and Churchville:
      • Request for cement pads has been denied and instead have early approvals for leveled areas with flypads.
      • Still plan on pushing for cement pads.
    • MCC:
      • Ryan will be meeting with officials at MCC later this month to discuss the course.
  • Website Update (Adam Brennan):

    • Plans to add course supervisors to website.
    • Working towards adding club member only access section.
    • Old forum posts need to be archived.
    • Photo album will be added.
  • Course Maintenance Supervisors:
    • Need to update By-Laws concerning course maintenance supervisors.
  • Non-Profit/Tax Exempt status:

    • Gene Beaumont advised that the tax exemption package has moved on after submitting answers to questions posed by the IRS.
    • No date as to when we will have our tax ID.
  • 2010 Tournaments:
    • RFDO – Sept. 18-19
      • Dry fit and Polos are in with RFDO logo for $25/ea
      • $1,500 worth of sponsorships has been raised.
    • NY State Doubles
      • Fees: $100 Pros and $60 AMs
      • At Lake Side Beach Park
    • Ace Race
      • Aug. 8th at Widener (Chili)
      • $25 fee: 2 disks, hat and stickers
  • 2011 Worlds Update:
    • Looking to start list of volunteers:
