This site provides information about the disc golf community in and around the Rochester NY area and in New York State. We currently have 8 welcoming courses in the Greater Rochester area, so come experience some of the most challenging and diverse disc golf in the Northeast with us today!

The 36^th Annual Rochester Flying Disc Open

Come join us September 18-19, 2010 for this PDGA Sanctioned B-Tier Event!  We we be playing the Parma DGC & Basil Marella.  EVERYONE will sign-in at Parma from 8:00 - 9:15 AM... players meeting for all at 9:30 AM.  Be sure to check out the event page and the event flyer for all the juicy details! 

Club Meeting Minutes

The meeting minutes from the latest Club Meeting held on July 12th, 2010 has been posted to the site. If you were not able to attend the meeting, please take a quick look through the notes to see what you missed.

A couple of items to note that came up at the meeting, regarding the Worlds: We are looking for volunteers that are able to help during the week of the Worlds next year. We are also still looking for a few more TDs for a few of the courses that will be played. If you are interested and would like to help, or know of anyone who is interested, please let us know!

New Cement Tee Pads @ Parma DGC!

Thanks to the hard work of numerous GRDGC members, the tee pads at Parma are done!  Thanks to all that helped make this happen.  The course has also been tweaked a little, with some new hole additions.  Hope everyone enjoys!

Remember that it is a requirement as a club member to participate in work days to be eligible for the year end club finals as well as the year end doubles final.

We really hope to see you all out there. This is really important for our club in preparation for 2011 AM Worlds! We all need to come together to make this happen. 

2010 Ice Bowl Results

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the 15th Annual Greater Rochester Ice Bowl!  This year, the charity disc golf event was held at the Parma Disc Golf Course. 

We had a total of 35 participants.  Alan Koons and Ryan Hand won the Open division, while Tim Johnson and Joe McGlinchy won the AM division.  Tony Inzana and John Alloco won most charitable (something new we did this year) for most donation of money/merchandise.

There was great generosity in the form of mulligans: $472 to be exact!  In total we collected $700 for the Parma Food Bank.

Please note that we still have a moderate amount of Ice Bowl discs leftover.  We would really love to donate more money to our charity so let us (or Ryan Hand) know if you're still interested in any Ice Bowl discs, you can also checkout this page of the forum to see what discs are still available.  Also, thanks to Gene & Pat for the pictures (click image above to view).

Club & Worlds Meeting Minutes

The minutes from our Club Meetings and 2011 Am Worlds Meetings will now be posted on this site!  The club meeting minutes page, and the worlds meeting minutes page have been separated into two pages, both of which can now be found under "News" in the navigation bar.

Cement Tee Pads @   Widener Park (formally Baker Park)

Widener Park disc golf course now has cement tee pads!  A huge thanks to the numerous people that came out both Friday and Saturday and helped make this project a success.  Click the image for the rest of the pictures!

We worked about 5 hours Friday night, putting the forms together, digging the tee boxes out, back filling around the forms, and some much needed bush trimming.  Saturday morning, a couple early-birds were at the course around 6am starting right back into back filling around the forms.  Around 7am the first cement truck pulled in, and by just a little after 11am the final tee box was finished.  After some lunch provided by the GRDGC, we worked for another couple hours moving some of the remaining dirt.  Also, a thanks to Pat Harris for taking pictures of both the work days.
