Disc-Clock Design for Worlds

Nice designs so far. Keep it coming rkundrata!! But it will help a lot to know which courses the AM world will use. It will narrow down the designs and extract some course designs into the disc (infamous holes?) and place it around the edge of the disc to create clock numbers or whatever, you know?

Another thought is to use the numbered signs from the top of the basket to be used as clock numbers...

If you do that hole 8 at basil has to be on there even though it's and 8 not a 9.

I would guess that a design is still being kicked around and the idea of trying to incorporate a Rochester element would seem to be very important. The design should remind people that the Worlds were in fact in Rochester,NY besides simply saying so. The clock idea is a good one but its design shouldn't impact the design for the disc stamp. Perhaps a Version#2 can be made for the clocks.
The skyline examples were very good maybe one that can incorporate the new bridge would be good too. Lilacs have always been synonymous with Rochester and perhaps can be worked into the design in some way. I don't have the software tools to create such designs I can only offer suggestions.

I like the idea to have 12 various courses' signature holes on it to form time.

You know, pick the best signature #1 hole in Rochester (Chili?), best #2 (Parma?), #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 (of course Ellison), #8, so on...

Maybe its too big to fit in the disc but might work as a poster or booklet cover, etc...

Just trying to get us back on track if we can!!

I like that idea of naming (and photographing) a "signature" hole from every course. Perhaps that can be part of the media guide or course booklet. Not sure how well those pictures will translate to a disk though.

Yeah, you could photography the signature holes and adjust the photo size to fit in or whatever.

Let's start off by voting on which 12 best signature holes in Rochester area.

#1 - Chili

#2 - Parma (across the water)

#3 -

#4 - MCC (across the water)

#5 - Parma (longest hole)

#6 -

#7 - Ellison (of course)

#8 - Chili (wish that small windmill still there...) or Basil (longest hole)

#9 -

#10 - MCC ?

#11 - Chili (longest hole)

#12 - Basil or Ellison (a mini version of hole #7)

Its only ideas, any takers?

From what I remember from the worlds meeting every course will be used except sawyer and possibly several others might be setup for either temp purposes or to try and make them permanent. Their will also be many designs for discs for the worlds not just one alone.

Think worlds will ever be held outside the US? There's Canada of course, but I'm thinking more like Europe, Japan, etc.

This particular design is one that would sell..............I made one from the '99 Worlds that would have sold had we the $$$ to do so.....It has Juliana Bower (Korver now) and Ron Russell's autographs on it also! It now hangs in my office............dt

That's a nice design. However, I disagree that it meets hotstamping standards. There's no way to hot stamp the gradients. The file provided would need to be 100% black. You could simulate the gradients via halftone dots, but then you'll run into issues with the dots being smaller than reccomended.

Remember this is only for hot stamping. Full color discs use a different manufacturing process.

mbrennan- Just a misunderstanding-the gradients are to show the design with a silver foil stamp. I did it that way to showcase what the final product would look like. Looking at it again- I should've done a gradient across all but I was in a hurry so I just dropped one of the finalized logos in. Of course the file I send to either discraft or innova would be black only. Just like the design where I showed a red-ish disc with a darker red-ish design- to simulate for all a red foil hotstamp. This design meets hotstamp standards as far as size, line thickness, and solid fill restraints, as well as simplicity and space in the center for the sprue. I see also that I'll have to adjust the text to not overlap the image on the state. sorry- changes coming soon!
