Help needed for the RFDO

The 40th Anniversary of the Rochester Flying Disc Open (RFDO)

Help needed for the RFDO

Postby Tony Inzana » Mon Jul 28, 2014 2:53 pm

I am going to post a few things that I need for the RFDO. I am looking for volunteers that can commit to certain tasks for mainly the NT event. I am also looking for a few more helpers for the amateur side, especially on Saturday the 9th, when I need a couple people at each course to help with set-up and registration. I could also use some help during the amateur player party to run a ring of fire as well as to coordinate running the clinic.

On Thursday Sept 4th, there is a Pro NT clinic taking place from 4-5 pm at the Chili course. I need at least 2 to 3 people that can be there to help set the clinic up and be there for support for the PDGA and the players that are conducting the clinic.

on that same day, Thursday Sept 4th, there will be registration from 5-8 at the host hotel, the Holiday Inn Airport. I need 4 volunteers to help man the registration area during that time.

More To Be Continued :

Friday Sept 5th --- I need a course director at both courses for the entire day

I need at least 4 people at both the Chili and Parma courses for the 2 rounds to help with set-up , scoreboard transportation, spotters on a few of the holes and general support staff.

Sat Sept 6th ---

I need at least 6 people in addition to the individual course director

#1 --- announcer of each card at hole 1
#2 - water maintenance
#3 - spotters x 4

For the player party that evening at Parma, if we are doing a putting contest, we will need 1 (or 2 people preferably) to man that contest during the day and during the finals to be held at the player party

Sunday Sept 7th -- Again those 6 essential people as we needed for Saturday. I will also need a couple people to help with parking and crowd control, especially in the afternoon.

Tony,

I have taken off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to help out however needed. I wouldn't really feel comfortable announcing the players, but any of the other roles would be fine.

I live 5 minutes from Chili so that would be my preference, but either is fine.

Tony, I can help with the clinic and sign ups on Thursday. I could also do course director duties at either course, preferably chili.
What time would we be starting on Thursday?

Alistair, I will have you at Chili the 1st day and then everyone will come together to help at Parma on day 2 and at Chili on day 3.

Tim,
The clinic is at Chili from 4-5 and registration is at the hotel from 5-8. It will be hard to do both so pick whichever one you want to do more and I will put you on that list.

I can't make the meeting, nor can I make the Am event, but I'll volunteer my services at Parma for the NT. If you remember the DIO from a few years ago, spotting is not my strong point, so I'll leave that to others.

Here is a tentative list of people who are volunteering and helping this weekend. Tonight, Thursday, is the players registration from 5-8 and I could still use one or 2 people for that. All volunteers are welcome to attend the player mtg from 8-8:45 at the Holiday Inn Airport. Action starts at 8 am on Friday at the Chili and Parma courses. At Parma, Ryan Hand will be in charge along with Derek Savory, Dale Wurtz, Tim Campbell and Rich Watson. At Chili, there will be John Alloco in charge along with Mike Herzog, Alistair Davis and John Zadora. There are a few others that have volunteered that I haven't gotten a place for yet including Jason Wolck, John Nichols, Pat Ciambrone, Mike DiRoma, Ken Dillon and Ryan Jeffords. Please let me know if I missed anyone. Please contact me at 585-429-0077 with any questions. Thanks guys for helping out with this great event.
