I wanted to use tee boxes and at chili I would have had to shorten the holes and there is more birdie potential at basil. It'll be fun, you should still play!

I agree with the Chili course. You can always adjust the pars at Chili as well and we can bring some temp baskets if we are really having trouble with distance. It shouldn't be that hard to set up the temps seeing as there is only like 5 of us who have actually signed up.

But with Chili its way to long and be so much harder to even get birdies. I don't think we are allowed to make our own course with random pars and temp baskets. Cause that alters way to much and will be more complicated in the long run. Plus if you make a long course short with all easy pars then it wont be fun cause you get one guy out there that's pro -ish and he will get every birdie and wont be a even chance for those who are not as good.

I birdie way more often at Chili than Basil going by the par on the signs, there's a birdie opportunity on pretty much every hole. I'm sure Basil is like that for some people but my discs really love trees.

Just to clarify for all, a birdie is not a 2 on a hole, it is shooting 1 under par. Per the Birdie Bash rules, you get points for birdies, eagles, and aces... so this could be played at ANY course and still be fun without shortening holes. I won't give my opinion on which course should be played since I more than likely won't be able to attend anyhow.

Here are some examples directly from the Vibram FAQ:

Example 1: A par 3. Your drive hits the basket but does not go in. You drain your birdie putt. You earn three points: 1 point for the metal hit on the drive, 2 points for the birdie.

Example 2: A par 3. Your drive goes way left and lands 150 feet away. Your 2nd shot is straight but low and hits the post. You earn one point and there is no need to putt out.

Example 3: A par 4. On your fourth shot, you tickle the chains and do not go in the basket. You get zero points since the shot that hit chains was not for birdie or better. As it turns out, there was actually no need to even throw the fourth shot, except for funsies.

Obviously I would never expect you to make a change for one person, But I was going to register when it was at Parma. Now that its at Basil, I'm not planning on it. For people who know me..... They know how much I hate basil. Alot of people have to be basiled out...I mean every saturday, the ace race and the Ice bowl. Chili would be fun. Like Derek said, our 54 we use at league is not a true par. We use that to just make scoring easy. Hole 9 would be a par 5. Alot of average people can get a 4(birdie) on that

Just saw this and while i'm interested in the whole birdie bash thing, I'm basiled out too after the ice bowl, have you considered shorewinds white course? (I don't know if that's too far for consideration but not alot of events there, might be interesting for some folks.)
Might want to have someone post this on NRDG website too if it's not already on there.

The only one I like to putt with is the sole. The ridge is my favorite approach disc super straight when you put some snap on it. I think I'll go with the new lace and a ridge for the event.

Yes you have to sign up early, you have to scroll up and click on the link. Then find the one that is at Basil and sign up, you pick your 2 disc and T-shirt size then pay. All the packages will be shipped to Eddies place a few days before the event.

So you must pre-register before the deadline. If you want to join the fun.
