We're gonna be the Fools if the temps don't start rising and the snow doesn't stop Hopefully things start to change at the end of the month I'm so ready for Spring. If anyone travels to Bath before the tourney please let us know the condition of the course. I'm hoping to make a road trip there in a week or two but only if the course is in reasonably playable condition.

P.S. If you have any plastic you want to swap at Bath I'm brining a basket full that I'm hoping to trade. We can make this an early season Disc Swap Meet

One other thing Someone needs to post a review of Hickory Hills that's usefull. I've never played there and DGcoursereview has very little insightful information on the course layout and how to score well in the hills. Every disc golfer is a course critic and Hickory Hills needs more critical/analysis review. Any takers?

I agree...I hope the weather straightens out. I hate the cold!

I'm not going to review the course in detail (because I don't really know enough to do that) But I will say I like the course. Good mixture of open and wooded holes. From what I can remember, It's a big time lefty course. one thing I like was, Last year the weekend of the tourney was nasty, rained non stop the whole weekend. The "tee pads" were made from mulch. This gave me awesome grip. I'm usually fearful of slipping on my plant foot and it helped a lot.

Ohhh and a lot of drinking goes on...Especially in Derek and Krohn's cabin

I'm heading back down to Bath today i have family there, but not sure if ill be able to check out the course, if i get time ill let you know the conditions by tomorrow.

What i know of is holes front 9 holes mostly all open and around a big pond, back 9 is all woods just going up, up and up till the top. A pipe line hole coming down and a few holes they set up around the campsites. So a great mixture for sure.


And are Cabin will be a doozy this yr for sure.

Doug this is a very grueling course. Cart friendly on the 1st 8 holes then you have to carry the bag and a chair. you can leave the cart at the cabins and pick it back up at 16(the pipeline hole).

So i just went and check out hickory hill only the front 9. Its a little muddy in the main areas of walking the course but not to bad. Except till you get around hole 5-9 its a mess not really play-able at all due to construction. They have back hoes and the ground all dug up its a dirty muddy mess some of the holes have baskets out laying on the ground.

I did not make it up in the woods cause i had the lady & dog with me but I'm sure its all mud.
I did drive over by where the Cabins where that area looks good and i noticed that they moved a few tee areas and baskets from last yr. Should be interesting.

If it was me i personally would not make a road trip down to play the course till either it got a few days before the event. Or just show up early on Friday and get a round or two in before the tournament starts.

Dudes, thanks for the feedback back on the "Hick" Jason keep us posted on the progress of holes 5-9 baskets on the ground are bogus it sounds like a lot needs to get done to get the course tourney ready and it might be a a bit of a bummer to drive all the way to Bath for only 13 holes but probably will any hoot.

Thus, next Sunday 3/24 myself and some others from DiscIthaca may make the trek to Bath just to get a look at the layout regardless of course conditions. With baskets on the ground we may have to play pole golf off trees Also, have to find out what it takes to keep it in the fairway on the "Bodacious Bath Pipeline" hole I'm thinking a Leopard Pure down the hill

The course is always temporary for the tournament.. I believe 21 holes for the tourney. A lot of the holes used run through the campground, and that is how they make $. As soon as the tourney is over, it goes back to 13 holes.. Everything will be fine before the tourney, I am sure. Last year, I went up the day before and they were setting up for the weekend.

If anybody plays "The Hick" before the tourney please keep an eye out for a Rosy Pink T-Bird that was left on the gas line hole. A reward is always given for for a "Westy" disc that makes it back home. If you believe in long range forecasts the weather looks sunny and dry for next Friday let's hope that holds. Great time thanks to all who worked on the tourney to pull it off. My only major complaint is slow play, I'll get up before the Sun to avoid slow play and 5 hours rounds c'mon man we can do better than that. To all TD's out there limit your fields, stagger tee times, start earlier whatever but you do something to ensure your tourney has good flow.

The fun factor at the camps was off the charts thanks to all the great people hanging out sharing stories and laughs. Can't wait until next year to do it again, hopefully the tee pads will be done so we can see what the scores are like when you can get real footing.

Thanks, to the person who returned my Echo T-Bird to the lost and found that was a pure live move. Next year it's a 4 day weekend for sure gotta add Monday because Sunday is too much of a Funday.

For someone who actually played in this tournament last yr, you would be surprised the play and waiting was not bad at all this yr. I think I waited most about 5 min on a hole. Compared to last yr I can recall waiting on the pipe line for almost 45 minutes at a time. So I was happy with how fast it moved this time.

If anybody has seen an alien shuttle bus........ We all must get on it.
