Hi Ladies,

Tony suggested I reach out to you this way. I'm working on two upcoming stories for the Democrat and Chronicle about disc golf in the Rochester area.

One will run in the sports section and one will be catered more towards women and run in niche content.

I was at the Chili Cookout doing some reporting and had the opportunity to interview one of the competitors in the women's division, but I'd love to speak to some more Roc area female players as well (any level of play from just learning to pro. is fine!)

I'd also love to include information about your new weekly round for women that may be interested in joining you.

Thanks so much! Feel free to email me at caur@hotmail.com or through Twitter @caurieputnam or FB Caurie Putnam.

Thanks,
Caurie

Hmm... well my dear sir, I had not really thought about Robbie T's. However, it is a distinct possibility. I have a couple women in mind who might be interested in partnering with me.

That means you have to come out with me soon and help fix up my game, though!!

By the way, Sunday is so far being forecast as gorgeous, warm and sunny. So I hope to see lots of smiling lady disc golfers out at Chili for league this week!

I'm doing my best to keep flyers posted and talking to every woman I see on the courses and your help is greatly appreciated too, guys! Wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters, great aunts twice removed... all are welcome!!

Welp, Rochester gets a league for women disc golfers, and I flipping move to Delaware. Timing.

I'll be camping in Canandaigua next weekend. Not sure that I'll make it all the way up to Parma on 5/27, but I'll sure try.

Missed Ellison by one week!

Melynda- That would be awesome if you could make it out to league sometime! We will be going at least until 9/2 so anytime between now and then, feel free to drop in for a round when you can!

We continue to have new faces show up every week and that's very encouraging. I hope that we are offering a fun and rewarding experience that people will tell their friends about! Most importantly though, we are out there having a great time every Sunday!

I know there is interest in playing in the Shorewinds Shooutout II tournament, but SOMEONE may have told you ladies that you will be playing only the white course when that is not the case. am ladies will follow the same schedule as other amateurs.

I hope to see all of you there, please let me know if you have any questions about the tournament.

In light of Dave's Lesveaux's unfortunate injury at Basil last night, women's league for 6/10 will be cancelled and instead I encourage all who would participate to consider taking part in the fundraiser instead.

Same course as league was scheduled (Basil), singles, 9:30 players meeting, $25 to play, totally worth it to help a fellow disc golfer recover from what I heard was a nasty injury. Another fundraiser will be held Saturday, same details but doubles format.

I will also make the announcement this Sunday at Ellison. Hope to see a strong turnout for both upcoming weekends.

Yeah dude, I saw that!! That's really phenomenal. We're not, ahem... quite there yet here but I'm still confident that with persistence and support the sport can continue to grow among women in the area. Within a few years who knows, maybe we can host an event like that. I would love to see that happen.

**On a related note: I will not be at Women's League on Sunday as I'm going to be playing in the tournament at Clay Park. I'm still working on finding someone to run it in my absence but haven't had any luck thus far.

If anyone wants to step up for me that would be lovely- all that's really necessary is to welcome and gather whoever shows up, divide groups if need be, and write down who shows up. If you want to do a CTP/long putt I will still provide prizes, either next week or I could drop stuff off to someone to give out for me.

if no one does actually spearhead it in the end, I hope that whoever was planning on showing up will still go to Basil and play together

Back to normal this Sunday for the round at Chili, I will be there with bells on and I hope a lot of other women can make it out too. I have a bunch of awesome prizes to give away thanks to some very generous people and would love to have a big group vying for them!!

As always, guys, encourage your significant others/friends/family members to come out and play a round that's super casual, totally beginner friendly, and more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Truly!

Back to normal this week for the women's round. I will be there ready for a fun round after missing a couple Sundays.

We will keep the schedule just as it is, playing Parma this Sunday and Ellison next week even though we substituted it for Chili last week. Ellison seems to be the place where we get the most attendance so I definitely want to leave it in. Anything to get more women out to play!!

Also, I have had several inquiries into whether I would continue into the fall. Since there's been so much interest, I've decided to keep the league running through the end of October/beginning of November.

I've also had requests to move to an earlier time slot, and I will be implementing that change as of 9/9. More info and detailed schedule will be forthcoming.

As always, a big huge thank you to everyone who continues to show support for women's league and the growth of women in the sport!!

Here is the updated info for the continuation of women's league into the fall.

This week, at Basil, will be the last week of the 11am tee-time. Also, I will be playing the Disc Ithaca Open this weekend and am looking for someone to run the league for me. I really just need someone there to gather people and welcome any women showing up who haven't attended before. If anyone could possibly, please, do this for me let me know. Thanks!
