Angry Apple Grand Opening - Saturday June 16th

sign up 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
First throw - 11 .am.
tee off 11:15 a.m.

Cost $10 - everyone gets a custom disc and an apple
two options on playing
a. regisister in the recreational division and you only have to play one round. (Your are still eligible for trophies and ctps)
b. those who want to play competively - there will be a second round around 1:30. This part still needs the aok from the district manager but it looks it won't be a problem. Cost for that would be another $10 which will used for pay out. (that should be paid that day.)

Between rounds, there will be a driving contest and a putting contest. Also, if anyone wants to help run any kind of demo we put on that day, please let me know.

There will be ctps on just about every hole. And along with trophies - high score will win a big of apples.

yes - new format which was the old format for the Shorewinds tourney.
$20 for open. $15 for ams. $10 for beginner/recreational.
100% pay out for open and ams. recs and beginners will get two discs.

(Everyone else will get one disc courtesy of Doug Kelly, the park manager who made this course happen.)

There will still be ctp prizes and instead of a driving or putting contest, I am going to try and talk the park manager into using that island across the lake and putting a pin out there to use as some kind of ctp across the water. Something like 3 shots for $5. (I still have to clear this with Doug, but I think he'll go for it since it would very cool. lol -

And for those that want to register that day, that's fine. I don't think we'll hit the 90 mark but that's what the park manager is ordering for plastic to give away that day.

A quick update -

A few more details. Open - if any show lol - will be playing whites both rounds. Ams same. Rec whites as well. Beginners red tees. If there are women beg/rec/ they throw from the reds. Any open women can either play with the big boys or play with the ams. No ctps during the rounds. Recs and beginners are encouraged to play both rounds but if you wish to simply come out for the first round, that's fine as well. A few people did that at the Shorewinds grand opening.

We were hoping to have food for people to buy but that fell through, so if you do show, you can either can run into town or bring your own. I need someone to run a ctp in between rounds. The basket used will be the practice basket. $5 for three shots. Winner wins everything in that pool along with an Empire passport. (If you already have one, the park manager will simply have one waiting for you in 0'13.

The park has worked hard at making the course easier to get around. Still thick but it's a new course.... Mark has already been out volunteering to clean up some of the overgrowth. The Regional manager will be there to help do the first throw. Hopefully we'll have a decent crowd to kick off the newest WNY course.

One last note - if you're going through Corfu to get to the course DO NOT SPEED!!! There is almost always an officer waiting to give out tickets!

As beginners, the Angry Apple grand opening will be our first tournament. Let me thank those who have worked so hard on the course, the improvements have not gone unnoticed, especially the little paths into the woods, which seems where I spend much of my time! See everyone on Saturday..

big news - the commissioner of NY State parks is suppose to be there for the opening ceremony. If people could wear collared shirts that day would be greatly apprecriated.

That was a well organized fun tournament and a good course. Rochester Players killed it. Congrats to Dan Traub for winning oped division, Sean Young winning the Am Division with a score that would have placed him in second place in Open, Josh Chaddock took second in the Am disvion with a score only one stroke behind Sean, and Andy Dorofy took Third in Am division. Andy will post a highlight video of the footage I shot of the tournament when we get the time to edit it. Sorry if I forgot any other Rochester players that placed good that day. Thanks go out to everyone that helped run the tourney and build that challenging course.

A quick shout out to all the Rochester players. You guys played great and for the number of you that showed up totally made it a great day for the park manager and myself. I want to thank EVERY single person who showed up. You really made a great impression to district manager as well (and the state commissioner!). Thanks again. The course still needs some tlc but you guys worked it really well.
