SImply put- nope, no weekly fees! For now at least I wanted to keep it as beginner-friendly as possible, so no money will be exchanged. That may change in the future because if we do get a good turnout I would like to be able to contribute money to the upkeep of the courses as that seems only fair.

Also, we may end up doing $1 optional for CTP's but that depends on whether or not there's a desire to do that. Lots of ideas up in the air for now because I want to feel everyone/everything out first before I make too many decisions.

Thanks Nikki? :-)

I am a duma$$ and deleted the email link to the pm you sent me and I have no clue how to send one on this site. I am sorry I didn't respond... these past two weeks have been very crazy at work.

I look forward to meeting the mastermind behind this on Sunday!!

Cat, hover your mouse over Nikki (or anyone's) post and you will see an envelop icon. Click on it and you can pm her.

The other way is to click "User Control Panel" then hover on "Overview". You'll get a dropdown menu, click on private messages. Then hover on "Compose Message" and you'll get another dropdown menu, click inbox, etc. It used to be easier

I expect to have some amateur women playing, but not sure how many at the moment. Closer to the event I will be posting list of players who have pre-registered so you will be able to check then.

Well Walker, we had 6- haha... not exactly what I was hoping for but still better than none! I'm blaming a lot of the low turnout on the weather though, and am confident that we'll see a pick-up with better conditions.

Like I said though, it was still a great time; very casual, no pressure whatsoever, just fun ladies out there for a good time. If your wife is at all interested in the sport I would encourage her to come out and give the rec league a try... I can't think of a more supportive environment to play in!

Nikki,

Awesome job. 6 is somewhere to start. I remember first getting into our GRDGC doubles league and only having 8-12 some nights. Now we are averaging 40 so far this year. Keep at it and they will start showing up. Our sport is only growing.

Thanks again for your initiative to get this started. It is a really cool thing to see.

Hey Danielle! There is a deli about a quarter mile up the road from Ellison park called Sonny's. In addition to great food, they have a pretty good selection of inexpensive discs. You could grab some before the meet up at Ellison this Saturday! Hope this helps some!

So happy to hear that you are interested in coming out to play, Danielle! No big deal if you happen to come without any discs, I always have a few loaners on hand.

That's super cool of Steve though to offer a bag/discs- you're a real class act bub!

Figured this would be a good place to post this. I was fishing out the pond at mcc and I found a light weight yellow champ sidewinder with the name Jen Stanbrough #22955
Saw that a Jen had posted here so I thought I would give it a shot. The disc had no phone number but I searched the pdga number. Private message me So I can get it back to you.

I would be interested in giving disc golf a try, but I have absolutely no experience what-so-ever. This sounds like a good place to start. Is equipment provided? And where is the course for May 6?

Megan-

So glad you found your way to the forum! Not a problem at all that you have no experience, new players are always welcome.

I always have a few loaner discs available and there is also a deli right down the road from where we are playing tomorrow called Sonny's which usually carries a pretty good selection of discs. I would be happy to help you figure out what disc/s to buy after league if you would like.

The course for tomorrow is at Ellison Park, here is a link to the google maps page with the coordinates entered in for you http://maps.google.com/maps?q=43.153154,+-77.527428+(Ellison+Park)&ie=UTF8&z=17&iwloc=A

Feel free to PM me with any questions or call me at (315) 576-3395.

Hope to see you out there!

Fliers were posted at a handful of the courses already. Need to get one up at Parma again, the poop smearers pulled it down.

Thanks for putting this together Nikki! I had a great time playing Sunday and was very excited to win my first prize ever playing disc golf. I'll definitely be back to play again, and I would love to join you for some competitions this summer! I admire your go-getter attitude and your eagerness to share the sport with other woman! Keep up the great work.

Bobby- I definitely need to replace the flyers that have been torn down (jerks!). The only place I didn't originally have one was at Ellison because the case is locked and I wasn't sure where else to put one. Doesn't seem like there's a place where people would really notice it at Ellison.

Amy- Thanks so much for the vote of confidence and for coming out to play!! I'm glad you had a good time

Sorry, I prematurely posted on the last one accidentally. Anyways, I'm glad you had fun Amy and I look forward to playing with you again soon! If you know other women who would be interested make sure you tell them about it!

We had eight women come out this week, and four of those were new faces to the league, which I was very happy about. The amount of interest seems to grow exponentially as time goes on. I'm especially excited to see people coming out who are brand new to the game.

Thanks again to everyone who is helping to spread the word!

Bobby- I was unaware that Derek is broken but would be very interested to come out and watch you fix him. As a matter of fact, I could probably use some repairs myself while you're at it
