Loving the new layout - definitely more challenging, and some of the new holes will be gorgeous once they are cleaned up and played a bit more (12, 13, 14). I like the concept on #5 but the tee box needs improvement, and some steps built into the hillside would help.
My only real constructive criticism is the fact that players are forced to walk back up #3's fairway to get to #18. Doesn't seem safe, or conducive to good course flow. I was thinking that #3's tee could be moved to roughly the area of where the pin is now (probably farther back from the pond, closer to the tree line where the ground is flatter), having players throw across the mouth of the creek/over the pond to a pin on the side of the hill (closer to the pond and farther back from #17's pin - behind the big stand of trees - separating it visually and physically from 17s fairway and tee). You'd keep that challenging hillside landing zone with the pin close to the water, and I think you could get similar distance and similar lines (big hyzer or anhyzer), with the added psychological challenge of going over the water. The only real issue is that depending where the tee is placed, players going from 17 to 18 might have to cross in front - but at least they aren't going all the way up the fairway. And I think there is enough room to let people pass behind the tee.
Just my 2 cents - looking forward to the next workday!
