The idea of playing basil every week is so weak! true disc golfers are out at every course all year long! prime example my friends and i went to parma multiple times last year and others had shoveled all the tee pads! just sayin pretty cheesy being at basil all year! Real men dont worry about winter!

If league was at any other course it'd run until 2 or 3 everyday due to longer search times for errant shots. But hey, you enjoy your testostorone, leagues at Basil.

Haha. Intelligent men don't like looking for their discs in a open field for an hour. Clearly haven't played in a foot of snow before. Plus basil is a great course to work on different shots. This league has been at basil for years. Hope to see you there.

So who's running league this year? Is it still The Dog, GRDGC, Gonzo.. ? Not that it really matters though, because if all the usual Winter leaguers are there along with the Gonzo club, there will be some big numbers there!!!

Also the other reason for keeping league at Basil each week is because that way there is no confusion where we are playing, sometimes Chili is literally unplayable as well as Parma with drifts. Basil is always playable no matter what and it keeps our attendance numbers up. I'm not interested in a 5 hour round on a Saturday morning in Parma/Chili because it makes me more manly!

Plus Basil is all woods, which helps to cut down the wind so you don't freeze your tukas off.

Is winter league starting on 11/12? That's the same day as the GRDGC Finals.

Winter league is starting this week the 12th. I have gotten E mails and calls requesting that we keep it the same starting date as previous years. Seems like some guys are not grgdc members or would just rather play that morning. We are doing a points system with awards at the end of the league. For every team that you beat you will gain one point plus one point for showing up that week. We will be taking your top fifteen scores to figure your final score for the year. This allows you to miss six weeks for other events and you will not fall behind in points. Good luck to all and have fun! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Okay... here's the deal. It really put us in a tough position scheduling the club final the same week as the league was scheduled to start, but we are no strangers to having things scheduled on top of events that were planned long before. So... league will start November 12th and run till March 31st. The first round will be to help determine players handicap, 0 to 3 strokes. No points will be given for this week. I encourage all current GRDGC members to attend the Club Finals at MCC over this event, however, if you are not a member you're more than welcome to join us at Basil.

Click on the Gonzo logo to the left of the page to be directed to the flyer that will have all the league scheduling information on it.

I realize this will not please everyone but it's the best solution we could come up with. Happy discing.

For those of us that got to try Neon Frog catering at the GRDGC Championships:

Dennis is planning on making an appearance this Saturday at Basil (11/19/11). He will stick with the same menu breakdown that he provided last Saturday at MCC. He would like to hear from everyone of any thoughts in mixing up the menu week-to-week. So, please, feel free to let him know and he will work it in one way or another.

Breakfast Wraps and Beverages (juices, sodas etc.)

A few people asked today so I figured I'd post where the league points spreadsheet is currently being hosted. Hopefully we can get the 2 sites merged within the next few months.

April 14th we will have the league "year end" final round. One round, same format as the rest of the league. Just wanted to get the date out there and I'll post more details as the day gets closer.

A little more details for everybody about the Finals... That day you won't pay the usual $10, you will pay $2 for every week that you missed up to 15 weeks. ex: If you played 10 weeks, you owe for 5 weeks, so $10. There will be throwable wooden trophy discs for the top 3 points earners, so if you're up there on the list keep fighting, these things are sweet! Also there will be a handful of CTPs and a very wide payout. Hope everyone can make it out!

Hi Brian,
I remember you being there that day. Came in first place for the day if I recall correctly. :D

As it turns out, the Winter League's last league day is March 31st. League Finals is on April 14th.

However, if you are still in town Tuesday April 10th. This begins the Tuesday Doubles League. The course for the first date is Widener Park (Chili, NY), formerly called Baker Farm. 6PM Start.
