Don't boil it, that could ruin your disc, just have your heat on low. Once the slight smoke starts to rise from it, you can turn it down a little so it doesn't boil. With the iDye poly you will not need multiple coats, this stuff takes quick! If you take a look at the smurf I did on the glow disc, that was like 15 seconds in the blue and it was way darker than I wanted, without the backlight it looks like a navy rather than a royal blue.
