BIG CUT & CHIP @ Basil Marella

Last Saturday, we took out a ton or more of big wood and added it to the pile b/t 9/10. (Special thanks to John Lehman for getting out by 8, also to Keith, Steve Crowley, and Flash for helping.) Greece said they would get it soon. I hope so, otherwise it will make for one HUUUUGE bonfire (P.S. I am NOT, I repeat I am NOT reaching out to the "Butcher of Basil".)

Seriously, the last of the big cut days will be Saturday August 7th starting at 8 am, after the Dog, Brownguy, and I get back from the Worlds. In the meantime, while playing Basil, please add to the existing piles.

BIG CHIP is scheduled for Saturday August 21, starting early and going all day!!! Please tell everyone and save a block of time to help. This will be a massive undertaking and we need all the hands we can get.

We are trying to make this one of the nicest wooded courses a World Championship has ever seen. Ultimately, we will be reaping the benefits for years to come.

Talked to John Plummer this morning, told him we have a couple more tons of large (>6" diameter) wood piled up b/t #9 and #10.

Thanks to The Dog, Chuck, John L. and Rick for getting there early Sat. and working hard.

I also reminded him and now will remind all that this Saturday August 21 is the BIG CHIP, we will be there at Basil all day, starting early!!!

PLEASE schedule your day around this, even if you can only give a couple of hours.

Also, if anyone has large rakes for small sticks in fairways, I can get a pitch fork for shovelling it into the chipper.
