Treasury Report

Club has $3,227.88

2013 RFDO

- The club will run a B-tier for the 2013 RFDO (39^th)

- Have secured $2,000 so far in sponsorship.

- Will use Parma and Chili for the two courses.

- Saturday: AMs will play Chili and Pros will be at Parma

- Sunday: AMs will play one round at Parma, Pros will play one round at Chili

- Final-9s Sunday afternoon at Chili

- Tony Inzana will TD on Pro course, Peter Lunstead and Zach Morrison will TD AM course

- Player party to be at Parma on Saturday night.

- Anybody who raises $500 or more in sponsorship will have their entry fee waived.

2014 RFDO – 40^th!!!

- Looking to secure a car sponsorship by August.

- A sponsorship package is being worked on.

- AM tourney will be 2-weeks prior and will help fund the Pro event.

- Pro tourney will be a 3-day event.

- Need to secure link to a 501(3)(c)

Club Membership

- Membership is $20 (includes numbered bag tag).

- Will look into Gateway’s mini bag tags offerings.

- Year-end Doubles will be back at temp. course at Webster Town Park. Date: TBD

- Tuesday Night Doubles – in progress – drawing partners at 5:50, play at 6pm. (44 players first night)

- Thursday Night Singles League – starts on May 2^nd (Basil) at 5:45

- The 5th event will be a B-Tier at the Apple Farm (Victor)

- The 6th (Extravaganza) will be the Invitational and that will take place at Shorewinds.

- ADK Expo – June 8^th at Mendon Ponds

- To be run by Gene Beaumont and Zach Morrison

- Looking for any extra volunteers that can make it.

2016 Hearing-Impaired Championships

-Former GRDGC club member Patrick Harris, who now resides in Vermont, would like to have Rochester host the 2016 Hearing-Impaired Disc Golf Championships.

- He is looking for volunteers to assist with TD’ing the courses.

- Tony Inzana suggested the use of Chili or Parma and possibly a temp course at RIT for this event.

Course Plans:

Course Maintenance

- Need help in picking up trash on courses…bring extra bags to pick up what you can.

MCC

- 2^nd set of baskets (long pin placements) being worked out.

- Gold-banned baskets will stay in place and new Black-banned baskets will be added but in tougher and longer positions.

- Same tee pads will be used for both baskets on each hole.

- Innova will be replacing the chains on the existing baskets at no cost. (June)

Parma

- work day prior to Doubles (April 23^rd)

Ellison

- Working out plans to replace basket #5 that was damaged.

- Ryan Hand will contact Monroe County Parks Dept. this week for options.

- Tony Inzana will contact Gateway for replacement costs.

New course at Gates Town Park

- Dan Hoock was in attendance to advise that he has gotten approvals from the Town of Gates to put a 9-hole course into Gates Town Park off of Lyell Ave. (between Elmgrove Rd. and Manitou Rd.).

- Workday on April 28^th (at noon) to install collars.

New course Palmyra

- Clayton Woodard has approvals for a new course in Palmyra (off of Rt. 21, north of Rt. 31).

- No date as to when baskets will be in the ground and the course will be ready for play.

- He is currently looking for hole sponsorships.

Ryan Hand, Gonzo and GRDGC have committed $500/ea to sponsor three holes.

New course in Webster

- The club was approached by the Webster Town Parks Dept. about the possibility of putting a course at North Ponds Park (north-side of 104 (between Holt Rd. and North Ave. (RT. 250))(park entrance is off of 250).

- Ryan Hand has designed a 9-hole and 18-hole layout to present to the Parks Dept.

New course in Ontario

- Ray Sanger and Ryan Hand have designed a layout in Ontario at an old landfill.

- Baskets have been bought and should be in the ground this Spring.

Apple Farm (Victor)

- 2^nd course has been staked out though work has yet to begin on it.

Churchville

- Ryan Hand will contact the Monroe County Parks Dept. concerning the fly pads and 2^nd set of chains installed at Churchville at the club’s expense.

- Looking to pull the fly pads out for re-use at other courses.

New course at Gates Town Park

Dan Hoock was in attendance to advise that he has gotten approvals from the Town of Gates to put a 9-hole course into Gates Town Park off of Lyell Ave. (between Elmgrove Rd. and Manitou Rd.).

Club Membership

A request was made to go back to plastic tags and possibly look for other sources of those tags.
Tiered memberships are being considered to allow for memberships costs to include shirts or other items.

2013 Handicap League

Need somebody to run this league next year.
Derek Savory will advise this person with how this is done.

2013 Match Play Championships

This form of competition will be resurrected for 2013.
To be run by Peter Lunsford.

Titan baskets and flypads (from the Genesee Valley Park course)

Considerations are being made by the club to possibly donate the 18 Titan baskets and the 18 rubber flypads to The Apple Farm course for use privileges like tournaments and league nights.

2013 RFDO

The club will once again pursue running an A-tier for the 2013 RFDO (39^th)
This will require the club to raise $2,000 of extra cash for the tournament purse.
Will touch base with the Monroe County Sports Commission and see if they are will to support our tournament again.

Treasurer’s Report:
- Greg Curcio gave the financial report and noted that we have $529.54 in our account.
Course Updates:
- Parma:
  - Tee pad at #18 had to be removed due to the fact that it was not on the park property.
  - Ryan Hand will coordinate its replacement.
  - Looking into options to lengthen #7 and #16
  - Still looking to do work on #5
- Basil:
  - Plummer has been asked to remove the large brush pile between #9 and #10.
  - Chip date set for Aug. 21st.
- Ellison and Churchville:
  - Request for cement pads has been denied and instead have early approvals for leveled areas with flypads.
  - Still plan on pushing for cement pads.
- MCC:
  - Ryan will be meeting with officials at MCC later this month to discuss the course.
Website Update:
- Plans to add course supervisors to website.
- Working towards adding club member only access section.
- Old forum posts need to be archived.
- Photo album will be added.
Course Maintenance Supervisors:
- Need to update By-Laws concerning course maintenance supervisors.
Non-Profit/Tax Exempt status:
- Gene Beaumont advised that the tax exemption package has moved on after submitting answers to questions posed by the IRS.

Course Updates:
- Parma:
  - Will be the first course we add cement to this year.
  - Still looking for tee pad sponsorships. Cost is $250/ea. Six purchased to date.
- Basil:
  - Hope to have the chipper on the course in mid-June.
  - Going to inquire about getting a small drainage ditch.
Website Update:
- Adam Brennan advised that he is hoping to upload the new GPS course maps soon.
- Still looking to add more content to the site.
Course Maintenance Supervisors:
- Names of the course supervisors need to get posted on the website.

Non-Profit/Tax Exempt status:
- Gene Beaumont advised that the tax exemption package has been submitted and we now have a case handler who has sent us a letter asking for more information which we are working.
Sponsorships:
- Tony Inzana advised that he needs to complete the sponsorship form and hopes to do that soon.
2011 Worlds Update:
- Tony Inzana and Gene Beaumont are currently the only ones planning on going to Ohio to volunteer to help the local club. Still looking for others who are interested in volunteering to help.
- Monroe County Sports Commission has committed to going to the Worlds to set up a booth to promote the Worlds in Rochester in 2011.
- First fund raiser disc logos are near completion with the help from Max Norman.
- Tony Inzana is working on getting some top Pros to come to town to give clinics during next year’s AM Worlds.
- Monroe County Sports Commission plans on putting ads in the PDGA magazine in each issue for the next year.
Media:
- The D&C has been contacted about getting into this year’s Summer Guide.
- Plan to submit tournament results to the D&C following their completion.
2010 Tournaments:
- Chili Cookout – May 1st at Chili
  - Top two AMs will get automatic qualifier for AM Nationals.
  - Needs volunteers (contact John Alloco)
  - Looking for help to gather more prizes.
- RFDO – Sept. 18-19
  - Planning on 144 players. B-Tier
  - Plan to make it a Can-AM
- 2010 FROLF at Ellison – April 25th at noon
  - Phil Stratigis came to the meeting to join and talk about his tournament.
  - Fundraiser to benefit Alternatives for Battered Women

Leagues:

Non-profit status update:
- Gene Beaumont advised that the club has filed the tax exemption form with the IRS and then introduced Steve Pheterson who explained the certificates he created for the club for distribution to active members.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Greg Curcio gave the financial report and noted that we have $669.54 in our account.
President and Treasurer Elections:
- Ryan Hand ran unopposed and was re-elected as President
- Greg Curcio ran unopposed and was re-elected as Treasurer.
Club Membership Responsibilities:
- Ryan Hand explained that in 2010 all members will be required to show up to a minimum of four work days and those that do not will not be able to participate in the club’s year-end championships.
Website Update:
- Adam Brennan explained that he would like to utilize the group email more in the future.
- updated version of the Google Maps view of the courses should be out soon once provided to Adam by Gene Beaumont.
- Adam requested club members to submit photos for the site.
- Jeff Walker & Greg Curcio will be added as a Forum moderator
2011 Worlds Update:
- Tony Inzana provided an update on how the club is doing in regard to Worlds preparations. Progress is being made but the courses still need a lot of work.
- He is still looking for volunteers who are will to go to the 2010 Worlds in Ohio to help them with running it.
- The 2011 Worlds will run from July 23rd – 30th.
- The next Worlds meeting will be at his house on Feb 1st at 7pm.

- The proposal has been submitted to the Director of the Monroe County Parks Dept. regarding usage of the courses (Churchville, Ellison and Genesee Valley) for the Worlds and putting in concrete tee pads at Churchville and Ellison Park

  - - The club plans to contact Monroe County to provide a separate proposal to get some of the $2 million in funds allocated for park renovations to be assigned to build a disc golf course with tee pads, baskets and signs.
  - Genesee Valley – Temporary for the Worlds -- ?? Permanent after that
  - Powder Mill Park
Existing Courses:
- The club plans to work aggressively starting in the Spring on tee pad installation
- Complete the MCC redesign.

Minutes from previous meeting were read
Graphic Design work for Worlds:
- Currently, we have five students from RIT and Roberts Wesleyan who have volunteered to come up with designs for the 2011 AM Worlds.
- Some early drawings have been done but nothing of note.
- Jeff Walker will post to other club's forums to see if anybody would be interested in submitting designs.
- We would also like to talk to Scott from Freetime to see if he is willing to help.
January's Club Meeting:
- Sending a mass email was discussed to help get the word out.
- The agenda for the meeting was also discussed.
Non-profit status update:
- Gene Beaumont advised that the lawyer has all of the paperwork and it has been sent to Albany.
Course Setup Ideas:
- Ideas were tossed around about how to set up courses:
  - Adding distances in fairway to basket
  - Ensuring all baskets have 30' circle around them
  - The need for an overall course chairman and individual course supervisors
Greece Canal and Powder Mill Park courses:
- Greg Curcio gave an update about how he has walked the proposed Powder Mill Park course.
- Discussed the proposal that was submitted to the Monroe County Parks Dept. to solicit funds from the Greece Canal Park budget ($2,000,000), for park improvements, to build a course.
Player's Party:
- A date for the party was discussed for either Wednesday or Thursday of the tournament week.
- Funds for the player's party were also discussed especially when it comes to the sounds board and lights needed for the bands.
- Jeff Walker suggested that he knew several bands that may be interested in playing during the tournament week.
Tournament Activities:
- Ideas for Red Wing and Rhino games during tournament involving long drive finalists.
- Tony suggested that perhaps the FlyMart and Shuffle would be on the same night.
